Violets Shriek Limited Edition Art Zine
Rearrange the letters to the words 'violets shriek' and you arrive upon 'the risk is love'.
This zine was created from the aftermath of a show called 'Violets Shriek' by The Anti Insemination Disseminators on view through August 2018 at Frame Central’s Cloud Gallery in Seattle.
The Anti Insemination Disseminators (A.I.D.) is a loose collective of radical thinkers started by Lynda Sherman and Leigh Riibe. As a response to the growing industrialization of thought, in 2014 they created A.I.D. The mission of A.I.D. is to support radical inclusiveness while dismantling violent structures that manufacture isolation, fear, and hopelessness to further sustain community in the physical world. A.I.D. encouraged viewers to use the 'Single Function Machine' (the typewriter pictured in the third slide) to share their own thoughts, feelings, stories, or anything that came to mind and tack them up on the gallery walls. A collection of those writings are included in the pages of this zine.
Measurements: 4.25" x 5.5", 28 pages, stab stitch bound with waxed cotton thread.
Includes a letter press printed pocket poem titled 'The What Device' (see slide 5).
